About the boy

Bonjour et bienvenue, hola y bienvenidos, hello and a very hearty welcome to my site!

Come right in, allow me to take your coat, and please, really, don’t bother wiping your feet. After all, mi casa es su casa.

So, what can I say about myself? Well, my name is Edward and, contrary to expectations, I have not one but two great loves in life. The first is language, lest my somewhat overenthusiastic greeting be taken as some sort of smokescreen of fustian and fantasy. And the second? Well, the fact that you’ve come a-knocking should give you a pretty good idea. I love food. I love talking about it. I love writing about it. But most of all, I love eating it.

In the summer of 2014, I graduated from Oxford University with a degree in French and Spanish, having been lucky enough to spend a year sweet-sampling and tapas-tasting in Paris and Madrid. It was here that both my loves flourished ever further. Now, I work in the City, but every minute I spend slumped at my desk, my fingers plodding listlessly across the computer keyboard, I wish I could be here, soliloquising the virtues of life’s glorious ambrosia.

And so the website was born. Here you’ll find my reviews of restaurants, primarily based in London, as well as some real stonkers of recipes which, whether heart-stoppingly indulgent or a little lighter in touch for the more health-conscious of us, you can be sure taste absolutely fabulous.

Bon appétit et/y buen aproveche. Sorry, I’ll stop now…
